Inspiration for SWAY WITH ME
Merchant of Venice is my favorite of William Shakespeare’s plays. In it, Portia dresses as a male lawyer and represents her lover’s friend in court, coming up with a loophole to save him from having to give the loan shark “a pound of flesh.” Portia’s intelligence and bravery has always inspired me both as an attorney and a writer. Since Sway With Me is about artistic inspiration, I had to use the name Portia for my heroine. Those familiar with Merchant of Venice may find common themes and symbols within Sway With Me, but it’s not a retelling.
While Sway With Me isn’t a paranormal romance, it contains magic based on Greek mythology. I’ve always loved all things Greek, from the food to the culture to the—cough, ahem—men. I couldn’t help but fall in love with Ryan, and I hope you will too!

She smirked as she stood. “How’re you feeling now?”
He tucked himself back in and zipped his pants. “Like I ate a delicious appetizer, but I’m still hungry for the main meal.” He grabbed her hand and pulled her toward the stairs. “Let’s go kill a couple of hours. There’s a scarf and a bar in your closet that are calling your name.”
